Vintage Sugarloaf Amethyst 9CT Gold Ring

A vintage nine-carat gold ring set with a fabulous purple amethyst which is a high-domed slightly pointed cabochon, almost sugarloaf in shape. The design of the ring is interesting, somewhat 1970s Brutalist but also with a look of 19th century Georgian jewellery.

SIZE: M (UK), approximately 6 and a quarter (US). The ring is approx 3mm wide at the back, rising to around 1cm at the front. The amethyst is approx 5 x 7mm and the top of the stone sits around 6mm above the finger.

WEIGHT: 2.7g.

MATERIALS: Nine-carat gold, amethyst.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: Hallmarked for nine-carat gold, London 1977 and stamped 278.

CONDITION: I n excellent vintage condition.
