About us

Welcome! We are Ben and Eve, a brother and sister based in England, and we created Corvidae Antique almost a decade ago. You might have visited some of our shops on platforms including Etsy, Ruby Lane and Selling Antiques, where we've helped thousands of lovely customers over the years, but we finally felt it was time to spread our wings with our own website.

Like our namesake (corvidae -- pronounced "kor-vi-day" -- is the Latin name for the magpie-crow family of birds) we have an eye for all that sparkles, for beauty, for the unique, for things that just have that extra, indefinable quality which makes you want to get them back to your nest as quickly as possible!

Ben is our head buyer and has been dealing in antique jewellery for more than 30 years; today he works for a Hatton Garden diamond merchants supplying gemstones to the jewellery trade. Ben is also in demand as a probate valuer for solicitors, dealing with deceased estates where he helps families to make the most from their loved ones’ valuables.

We prize aesthetic value over the intrinsic and for us, the real value to an item is in its design, the quality of craftsmanship and of course, the tale that the piece can tell. We especially love one-of-a-kind pieces which tell a great story - we view each item as a miniature work of art and we’d love it if one of our finds could have another life as part of your family’s history.
