Vintage Silver German Deer Teeth Oak Leaves Pendant

This silver pendant with beautifully detailed oak leaf decoration is a lovely example of vintage German deer tooth jewellery, known traditionally as Hirschgrandln. This is a historic style of Alpine hunting jewellery made from the upper canine teeth of red stags, traditionally worn as amulets for good luck, and dating back to the 19th century.

SIZE:  Approximately 2.5 x 2.3cm, not including the bail.

WEIGHT: 3.3g.

MATERIALS: Silver, deer teeth.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: Stamped 835 (silver fineness).

CONDITION: In excellent vintage condition.

ERA: Estimated c.1930s.
