Vintage Modernist Scottish Silver Necklace/Brooch

A fantastic sculptural silver necklace with an ingenious detachable cornelian (AKA carnelian) pendant which easily converts to a brooch. It has a Scandinavian modernist look but is actually Scottish, almost certainly a unique piece handmade by a small independent studio.

SIZE: The brooch section measures approximately 5 x 5cm. The chain is approx 15 and a half inches long.

WEIGHT: 39.1g.

MATERIALS: 925 sterling silver, cornelian/carnelian.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: The brooch is hallmarked for sterling silver, Edinburgh 1971; the necklace is hallmarked for sterling silver, Edinburgh 1972, both have the sponsor's mark AB.

CONDITION: In excellent vintage condition.

ERA: 1971/72.
