Art Deco Silver Blue Morpho Butterfly Wing Pendant Necklace

An original Art Deco pendant with a Blue Morpho butterfly wing set beneath domed glass or rock crystal in a typical 1930s setting. The insect wing flashes vivid electric blue, violet and turquoise as it catches the light.

We have hung the pendant on a new sterling silver 18-inch chain so it is ready to wear out of the box.

SIZE: Approx 3cm total drop, the pendant is 2cm along its square side.

WEIGHT: 4.9g (pendant only).

MATERIALS: 925 sterling silver, butterfly wing.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: The back is fully enclosed and stamped SILVER FAT 202213.

CONDITION: The piece is in excellent antique condition, with hardly any loss of butterfly scales and little abrasion to the surface of the dome. The silver has a lovely patina consistent with the age of the piece.

ERA: Estimated Art Deco c.1930s.
