Vintage 1940s 14CT Gold Square Amethyst Ring

A beautiful retro gold cocktail ring with a step-cut purple amethyst set into a scalloped openwork mount.

SIZE: N (UK), 6 and three quarters (US). The square face of the ring measures 1.6 x 1.7cm and the amethyst is approximately 12 x 9mm.

WEIGHT: 5.8g.

MATERIALS: 14-carat (585) gold, amethyst.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: None found, the metal tests as 14-carat gold.

CONDITION: The ring is in excellent vintage condition, although the stone does have a chip under one claw if you look under magnification, see photos.

ERA: Estimated late Art Deco, c.1940s.
