This beautiful brooch is an example of Victorian piqué d'or - an intricate 19th century decorative technique developed in France where gold and/or sterling silver is inlaid into a material such as tortoiseshell.

MATERIALS: Gold, silver, tortoiseshell.

CONDITION: Excellent antique condition.
ERA: Victorian c.1860s.
