19th Century French Garnet Cluster Chandelier Necklace

A spectacular late Victorian-era fringe necklace set with dozens of fantastic deep red garnets arranged in daisy-cluster style.

The garnets are mounted into "garnet gold" - a description used to describe a very low carat gold typically used in Victorian garnet jewellery.

SIZE: Approximately 16 inches long. Each garnet flower measures approx 1cm across. The drop at the front is 3.7cm.

WEIGHT: 27.3g.

MATERIALS: Garnet, garnet gold.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: None.

CONDITION: The necklace is in excellent antique condition with a secure concealed clasp. Three of the garnets toward the back are vacant (see photos) but it's very difficult to spot.

ERA: Estimated late Victorian (c.late 1800s-1900s).
