Victorian 18CT Gold Turquoise Arts and Crafts Flower Ring

A very pretty little 18-carat gold Arts and Crafts ring with a marquise-shaped turquoise set amid tiny gold flowers. The gold is a lovely rich colour, beautifully complementing the vivid blue of the turquoise, which displays a little of its natural matrix veining.

Turquoise, in the language of Victorian sentimental jewellery, always represents the forget-me-not flower symbolising true love and loyalty.

SIZE: P (UK), 7 and a half (US). The turquoise measures approximately 9 x 4mm.

WEIGHT: 1.4g.

MATERIALS: 18-carat (750) gold, turquoise.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: There are some very faint hallmarks inside the shank but they're too worn with age to be legible.

CONDITION: Excellent antique condition.

ERA: Estimated late Victorian Arts and Crafts c.1880s-1910
