Tiny Victorian Pocket-Watch Style Locket Pendant

A dinky little ornate golden pocket watch-style locket pendant with lovely engine-turned detail front and back. One side flips down to reveal a little glassed compartment inside; originally this would have contained a lock of hair and you could easily insert your own picture or keepsake behind the glass should you wish.

SIZE: 3 x 2cm.

WEIGHT: 5.0g.

MATERIALS: Believed to be pinchbeck - a hardwearing 19th century gold substitute made of copper and zinc.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: None.

CONDITION: In good sturdy antique condition. There are a couple of tiny dints, best seen in the video. We have not cleaned inside the locket compartment.

ERA: Estimated Victorian (c.1837-1901).
