Small Georgian Gold Hair Mourning Brooch

A tiny gold early 19th century mourning brooch with a glazed centrepiece of neatly braided hair. The plain inner frame is a slightly rosy gold, making a lovely contrast to the richer yellow gold outer frame which is carved with decorative flowers and leaves. The brooch fixes with a simple C clasp.
SIZE: Approximately 1.8 x 1.5cm.
WEIGHT: 2.1g.
MATERIALS: Nine-carat gold, glass, hair.
HALLMARKS/STAMPS: None found.
CONDITION: In very good antique condition; there is a little abrasion to the face of the bevelled glass surface.
ERA: Estimated Georgian (c.1714-1837).
