Large Vintage 9CT Gold Pierced Jade Pendant

A fantastic large pierced jade pendant with a sturdy nine-carat gold top. The carved character at the centre is believed to be the traditional Chinese symbol for longevity.

The stone (untested) is a beautiful dark green colour with a slightly translucent quality and when held up to the light shows dark green speckles within.

SIZE: The oval section measures 2.5 x 3.5cm and the total drop including the bail is 5.2cm.

WEIGHT: 7.7g.

MATERIALS: Nine-carat (375) gold, jade/jadeite/nephrite.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: Hallmarked for nine-carat gold, Birmingham Assay Office (date mark too worn to read). Also stamped with the sponsor's initials NBS.

CONDITION: In excellent vintage condition, no chips or cracks.

ERA: Estimated 1970s.
