Large Victorian Silver Paste Crescent Brooch

A wonderful extra-large example of a solid silver antique crescent brooch set with beautiful sparkling old-cut pastes. 

SIZE: Approximately 10.3cm tip to tip (just over four inches) and 6mm wide at the centre. The pastes range in size from approx 1mm to 10mm.

WEIGHT: 12.3g.

MATERIALS: 935 silver, paste gemstones.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: Marked "935" - a silver fineness higher than sterling silver (925). We most often see 935 on vintage pieces from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

CONDITION: The brooch is in excellent antique condition and fastens with a typical C clasp.

ERA: Estimated late Victorian/Edwardian (c.late 1800s-1914).
