Large Victorian Golden Amethyst Paste Brooch

This regal and substantial Victorian brooch is set with a large purple paste amethyst complemented by a rich and intricate golden surround (not solid gold). It would also make a lovely pendant if suspended from a chain under the pin hinge.

SIZE: Approximately 6 x 4.3cm.

WEIGHT: 19.2g.

MATERIALS: Paste gemstone, gold metal, possibly pinchbeck. 

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: None.

CONDITION: The piece is in very good antique condition with normal surface wear for an item of this age, see photos.

ERA: Estimated Victorian (c.1837-1901).
