We don't know the identity of the noble chap atop this magnificent antique ring but he is beautifully carved. The carved hardstone plaque, likely agate, is set into a high rose gold mount set on a yellow gold shank with bifurcated shoulders. The plain but elegant setting really lets the cameo speak for itself.
While this handsome piece may originally have been destined for a Victorian or Georgian gentleman's pinky, it makes an equally stunning 21st-century cocktail ring!
SIZE: S (UK), 9 (US). The cameo measures 1.6 x 2cm. The band is 3mm wide at the back and the face of the ring sits around 8mm above the finger.
WEIGHT: 6.7g.
MATERIALS: Nine-carat gold, hardstone.
HALLMARKS/STAMPS: Marked 9CT inside the shank.
CONDITION: In excellent antique condition; no chips, cracks or damage.
ERA: Estimated Georgian-Victorian (c.1714-1901).
