Large Antique 9CT Rose and Yellow Gold Sardonyx Cameo Ring

We don't know the identity of the noble chap atop this magnificent antique cameo ring but he is beautifully carved.

The carved hardstone plaque, likely agate, is set into a high rose gold mount set on a yellow gold shank with bifurcated shoulders. The plain but elegant setting really lets the cameo speak for itself.

While this handsome piece may originally have been destined for a Victorian or Georgian gentleman's pinky, it makes an equally stunning 21st-century cocktail ring!

SIZE:  S (UK), 9 (US). The cameo measures 1.6 x 2cm. The band is 3mm wide at the back and the face of the ring sits around 8mm above the finger.

WEIGHT: 6.7g.

MATERIALS: Nine-carat (375) gold, sardonyx/hardstone.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: Marked 9CT inside the shank.

CONDITION: In excellent antique condition; no chips, cracks or damage.

ERA: Estimated late Georgian-early Victorian (c.late 1700s, early 1800s).
