Huge Antique Seal Conversion 9CT Gold Ring

An ornately embellished golden desk seal featuring a huge foil-backed citrine glass jewel mounted on a solid nine-carat gold band to convert it into an impressive ring. The conversion is sympathetically done and looks to have been carried out long ago.

SIZE: N (UK), 6 and three quarters (US).

WEIGHT: 22.1g.

MATERIALS: Nine-carat (375) gold ring shank and back plate, the seal itself is gold coloured metal but not gold.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: The inside of the shank is stamped 9CT.

CONDITION: The ring is in very good antique condition. The "jewel" is nice and clean, with little abrasion to the edges and just one small pit to the surface.

ERA: Estimated Georgian-Victorian (c. early 19th century).
