A lovely little antique stick pin (or scarf pin/lapel pin/tie pin/cravat pin) in the form of a crescent moon adorned with forget me nots and set with a tiny blue stone - which we believe to be sapphire although it has not been tested.
Marked 15C, the terminal is made of richly coloured 15-carat gold and screws on (and off) the nine-carat gold pin. Fifteen-carat gold pieces are not overly common (in the UK only really used between 1854 and 1932) and this fineness was generally used in high quality pieces.
SIZE: 5.3cm long. The terminal measures approx 13 x 13mm.
WEIGHT: 1.3g.
MATERIALS: 15-carat gold, nine-carat gold.
HALLMARKS/STAMPS: 15C on the terminal.
CONDITION: In excellent antique condition.
ERA: Estimated Edwardian (c.1901-1914).
Antique and vintage boxes photographed are for display only and are not included unless stated in the description.
