Art Nouveau Jugendstil 14CT Gold Ruby Pearl Brooch

The beautiful design, construction and attention to detail all make this a tiny eye-catching work of art. At first glance it has an Egyptian-revival Art Deco feel to it and this is typical of Jugendstil, a more angular Art Nouveau style from Germany and Austria which was a precursor to the Art Deco movement. The brooch is constructed in 14-carat gold and set with a pink ruby (likely synthetic) and three tiny gleaming pearls.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: Stamped 585 (14-carat gold) alongside a W and another initial which is not legible, see photos.
