Art Nouveau 15CT Gold Sapphire Pearl Lavalier Pendant

An elegant 15-carat gold and sapphire Edwardian pendant studded with tiny seed pearls. The sapphire is beautiful, a lovely royal cornflower blue, with an old English star cut which has the facets radiating out from the centre like a sun.

SIZE: 4.5 x 1.8cm.

WEIGHT: 2.1g.

MATERIALS: 15-carat (625) gold, sapphire, pearl. Fifteen-carat gold pieces are not overly common (in the UK only really used between 1854 and 1932) and this fineness was generally used in high quality pieces.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: Stamped 15C on the back.

CONDITION: Excellent antique condition.

ERA: Early Edwardian (c.1901-1910).
