An opulent 15-carat gold Victorian Etruscan revival brooch with gorgeous detailing and a design of vine leaves above a trio of foil-backed teardrop gemstones which test as chrysoberyl.

Fifteen-carat gold pieces are not overly common (in the UK only really used between 1854 and 1932) and as this fineness was generally used in high quality pieces, it is attractive to collectors.

SIZE: Approximately 2.7 x 2.8cm.

WEIGHT: 4.3g.

MATERIALS: 15-carat gold, chrysoberyl.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS:

CONDITION: The brooch overall is in good solid antique condition. One of the stones has a chip at the bottom, although it's really only visible under strong magnification. There are the remains of some historic solder on the back.

ERA: Estimated Victorian (c.1837-1901).
