A lovely old Georgian gold-cased ring with a juicy oval garnet cabochon set in silver between ornate gold shoulders with beautiful flower and scroll work.
SIZE: P (UK), approx 7.75 (US). The garnet measures approx 10 x 8mm and the ring sits around 4mm above the finger.
WEIGHT: 3.6g.
MATERIALS: Gold, silver, garnet.
HALLMARKS/STAMPS: None found.
CONDITION: The ring is in very good antique condition. There is wear to the gold casing at the rear of shank and the top edges, see photos, but the shank itself is strong and solid with no danger of wearing through. Light surface abrasions to the garnet when seen under strong magnification.
ERA: Estimated Georgian (c.1714-1837)
