A beautiful Georgian flat-cut garnet bracelet in slightly rosy nine-carat gold, estimated to date from c.1800-1820. The deep purplish-red garnets are set in the enclosed backs typical of Georgian jewellery, foiled inside to better reflect back the candlelight and give the gems a lovely luminous glow.
SIZE: Approximately 17.5cm (just under seven inches) x 0.8cm. This is quite a small size so please check your measurements! The garnets measure approx 8 x 10mm.
WEIGHT: 10.8g.
MATERIALS: Garnet, nine-carat gold.
HALLMARKS/STAMPS:
CONDITION: The bracelet is in very good antique condition overall with a secure integral clasp; one of the garnets has a hairline crack - it's securely set in its mount and quite difficult to spot - and there are some minor dents and historic solder marks to the reverse.
ERA: Estimated Georgian (c.1800-1820).
