Antique 9CT Gold Hardstone Cameo Stick Pin

An antique stick pin (or scarf pin/lapel pin/tie pin/cravat pin) with an unusual ancient Roman-style portrait carved into a white hardstone, possibly marble, and mounted in nine-carat rose gold. The twisted pin section, more yellow gold in colour, is untested. 

SIZE: The piece in total is 5.6cm long. The oval terminal measures approx 1.4 x 0.9cm.

WEIGHT: 1.7g. 

MATERIALS: Nine-carat gold, hardstone.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: Marked 9C on the back of the terminal mount.

CONDITION: Very good antique condition, normal surface wear to the cameo.

ERA: We estimate the pin to be Victorian (1837-1901) but the cameo could be significantly older.
